Consultation on registration of forestry advisers and log traders

This event is hosted by Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service.

In August 2020, Parliament enacted the Forests (Log Traders and Forestry Advisers) Amendment Act. Under the Act, log traders and forestry advisers must register to operate from 6 August 2022.

From 6 August 2022, there will be a one-year transition period for log traders and forestry advisers to register before penalties will apply.

Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service would like your feedback on the details of the proposed registration system. Public consultation is open from 26 November 2021 to 17 January 2022.

Find out more about the consultation and how to make a submission.
