NZFFA Lower Orokonui Ecosanctuary field day

Join the New Zealand Farm Forestry Association Mid-Otago branch for a field day at the Lower Orokonui Ecosanctuary. You'll visit the tallest trees in New Zealand - Eucalyptus regnans, also known as mountain ash.

Meeting site
Meet at the Department of Conservation carpark at the end of Orokonui Road (off the old SH1, south of the old Waitati White store).
Leave cars at the carpark and we'll walk the site as a group. Entry is via a locked gate and there is only 1 key for access so please be on time. We'll walk up Orokonui Creek track to the trees.
More details
We'll be back at carpark about 3pm. There will be an optional coffee or tea at Blueskin nursery café (at Waitati).
Note:
- wear suitable footwear/boots
- the walk time is about 20 minutes each way from carpark
- the event will be cancelled if inclement weather is forecast.
