The workshop will inspire and guide landowners, community members, and nature enthusiasts. Native forests support biodiversity, improve water quality, and help fight climate change by sequestering carbon.

Come along and be inspired to grow native forests. This workshop gives you the essentials for success, covering: 

  • the basics of growing native forests
  • how the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) works for native forests
  • rules around harvesting native timber
  • controlling animal pests.

Speakers include Solis Norton from Whirika, speaking about pest animal control.

This workshop is organised by Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service to support sustainable native afforestation efforts.
